News from Last Nite Sig Ep Alumni Meeting..

Epmailers...

Quite a burst of Emailing going on yesterday over the candidates running for Prez... Wish we could get that enthusiasm over attending the Alumni Meetings and events!!

Anyway last night's meeting was a GOOD one and here are two dates to save and plan on attending... Oct 24, October Fest at New World in Huntington Beach, AND November 22nd, Homecoming/Forty Niner Days on lower Campus/LBU Pyramid parking lot... More details on the November Date to follow... If you want more info on October Fest Call Florence and he will fill you in, because we're talking Friday next week... It always has been a good function AND you don't want to miss Digger's Twins dancing and rippin' it up!!

Digger had attended a Fraternity Meeting with some of the Mucky Mucks over the weekend and found out Long Beach is on the list for re-organization and is going to follow up and see what gives!! We haven't heard much if anything from the "Young" Alums since their Beach Family Picnic... What's going on there?? Doesn't seem to be anything happening on their Website... Echuck

San O info for tomorrow sat the 26th of April

hi guys,
see you all there. I have coordinated with mike
tabeling from global surf industries. we will have a GSI tent and some boards to demo, so if some of you are without a longboard we will have some available to test ride. I will be shooting that day, so put your best foot forward and get some nice shots! see you all there tom in the AM.

Good work dimo! I am assuming those of us bringing our full families from the la south bay area like me wont get there till 10-11 or so, so for those early risers plan to hang out for the entire day and pack accordingly. From what I understand is that old man's fills up quickly parking wise and they let more people in as cars leave but that if it is full your best bet is to drop your boards and family off and find parking up the street which could be a hefty walk so as Bartlett suggested maybe bring a bike as well. Meet at the south end of the parking lot Here is some info on Old Man's:

Old Man's lies just north of the Nuclear Plant. Some locals swear the ocean is warmer at Old Man's, where water used to cool the reactors is pumped back out to sea, but at least, by all accounts, it is not radioactive. In fact, Old Man's is an easy spot to access, with good facilities and a safe, clean, sandy beach. Like its neighbor Trestles to the North, Old Man's - also known as San Onofre State Surfing Beach - is a world-renowned surf spot. Unlike Trestles, however, Old Man's won its fame in the early history of the sport, when heavy wooden longboards demanded softer, slower waves. It was here that 'beach boys' like Hobie Alter, Dewey Weber and Dale Velzy helped shape the sport and culture of California surfing for generations to come. Fun, gentle waves still roll through Old Man's making it a popular surf spot for beginners and veterans alike, while beachgoers will appreciate the neighborly, tailgate party scene in and around the parking lot.

Directions
To find Old Man's and Trails, exit 5 FWY at Basilone Road and head south. The entrance to the San Onofre State Surfing Beach (Old Man's) is a turnout on the right before reaching the Power Plant. Continue south past the Power Plant to reach the San Onofre State Beach campground entrance (Trails). The rangers at either of these gates can direct you to a parking area and provide information about availability, regulations, fees and current conditions.

Massey+M.E.= Tapmate

You may be aware that I was working on a project that shouldn’t shock too many people; build the perfect draft beer meter. Following the success of a one-year pilot study, the first ever self contained, self powered draft beer meter was officially released. The product is TapMate™. Our team of engineers implemented an advanced infrared light scheme to measure draft beer flow. This is unprecedented in the flow meter and hospitality industry as there are no moving parts that wear.

I want to thank fellow Sig Ep Brothers that donated their time and efforts to help with my endeavor. Dave Kelly donated his time and services to help with our trade show in Las Vegas. DK runs a top notch company that provides promotional services. Greg Escalante helped by providing logo shirts at a huge discount. Cliff Ward contributed by drinking a lot of beer during prototype testing. Toby Leitch offered company direction by performing a draft beer analysis study that included drinking a lot of beer at different bars and generating reports based on customer feedback.

Thanks for your help.
